The Salt River Arts Society’s 2nd Annual Gala for the Arts raised $10,000 toward restoration of the façade on the Historic Ford Theatre. The evening included the 4th Annual Dancing with the Star Valley Stars, entertainment from local vocalists, a silent auction, drinks and a meal offering traditional Italian choices.

“The Gala was such a fun event,” said Jaclyn Lechner, representing the SRAS. “We enjoyed everyone who attended and shared this experience with us.”
SRAS received nearly $23,000 worth of donated goods or services to produce the Gala event and auction. Ticket sales, silent auction sales, and other cash donations brought an additional $10,000 in proceeds restoration plans for the theater.
Built in 1935, the 90-year-old landmark is in need of complete restoration, and the SRAS is dedicated to making that happen. Programming in the theater space is equally valuable to the board, offering the Ford stage as a local hub for arts and culture.
Krista Jacobson, a native of Idaho, owner of 307 Dance Hall, and new member of the Star Valley community, emerged as the 2025 winner of Dancing with the Star Valley Stars. She and her professional partner, Tavier Haarer with Fred Astaire Dance Studios, dazzled the audience with a playful waltz.
Five other local contestants, including Michelle Huntsman, James Arbizu, Tom Davis, Sara Tipton and Corey Christensen competed for the honor, dancing with Tavier and his colleague Jeravae Christensen.
“We are so grateful for the support and love that our community has for the Ford Theatre and the various programs and performances that are a result of the effort and work of our community, and the Salt River Arts Society Board,” said Lechner. Under the direction of Lauren Preston and Chef Maggie, dozens of volunteers staffed the meal and event, transforming the extension building into a “beautiful” and “magical” space.
Through grants and donations, the SRAS is on target to raise the $120,000 needed to restore the façade. They hope to raise the $250,000 needed to construct a façade that includes an awning, an electronic marquee and a fully lit sign. “We have current sponsors and donors who are helping. With support from others, we can make this happen.”
“The Ford has so much potential, and with support, we are hoping to make it more functional and accessible,” said Lechner. “We have hopes that future funds will provide new bathrooms and entryways, restoration of the stage flooring, and improving the stage and backstage areas.”
Ultimately, the Ford Theatre is intended as a space to foster “community programs and productions that facilitate the arts in Star Valley.” The SRAS welcomes community feedback and programming suggestions.
