
The Idaho District 8 spring schedule of the high school rodeo season continued in Grace, Idaho over the weekend, with a rodeo held on Friday, May 2 and another on Saturday, May 3.
Finishing in the Top 10 on Friday, Bridget Scaffide of Alpine took fifth place in Barrel Racing and fourth place in Breakaway Roping. In the Goat Tying event Jill Jackson of Etna finished in third place with Brooklyn Brown of Afton in fifth and Taylar Nate of Cokeville in ninth.
Also on Friday Cinch Pope of Cokeville and Crane McKade of Montpelier scored well in Team Roping with a third place finish, followed by Case & Ryder Kerr of Afton in fourth and Ross Hilton of Afton with Kruz Smith of Montpelier in fifth. Kutler Keetch of Cokeville took fifth in Tie Down Roping with Steehle Pope of Cokeville in eighth place.
On Saturday, Scaffide finished second in Barrel Racing. Payzli Nield of Afton took seventh in Breakaway Roping. Brookly Brown was fourth in Goat Tying while Jill Jackson took ninth. Hilton and Smith won the Team Roping event, while the Kerr twins finished third. Brown and Nield finished fifth in the event. Cinch Pope finished sixth in Tie Down Roping.
Competition resumes in Montpelier with two more rodeos May 9 & 10. The Wyoming athletes will then host their home event the following weekend, May 16 and 17 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in Afton.
