Star Valley High School’s select show choir, Singcopation, is presenting their annual end-of-year showcase, Singcopation and Friends, on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 27 and 28 at 7 p.m. each night in the SVHS auditorium.
With a theme of “Something About This Night,” the showcase features performances from each of the SVHS and SVMS choirs, including the award-winning girls’ choir, Treble Tones, and the mixed-voice choir, Concert Chorale. In addition, the show spotlights some of the schools’ most accomplished vocalists in solo and small ensemble presentations.
“This showcase is one of a kind,” said Kari Allred, Director of SVHS and SVMS Choirs. “You have to see it to believe it, because if you’re thinking this is a normal choir concert, you’re wrong! This is a full-blown musical review with lights, costumes, special effects and much more. You will hear favorite songs from the radio and Broadway.”
Singcopation has been preparing numbers for the show since January, with each member of the group carefully selecting pieces that reflect their personal style and talent. “These students are incredible and will just amaze and entertain you at every level,” said Allred. “I’m not kidding when I say, I sit there during rehearsal and cannot believe I’m watching and listening to a small-town high school musical theater group.”
The evening’s lineup involves 130 students sharing their best work through song and dance. “They are just unbelievable! You don’t want to miss it!”
