DUBOIS, WY – On July 5, 2025, the National Museum of Military Vehicles will host Shayne Jarosz, Executive Director of the Iwo Jima Association, for a special two-hour presentation about the Battle of Iwo Jima. The presentation, titled “Iwo Jima, Past, Present, and Future: Why This Iconic Battle Still Matters to the United States,” begins at 2:00 p.m. and will explore the battle’s significance, the island’s role in modern history, its return to Japanese control, and what is happening there today.
The Battle of Iwo Jima and the iconic flag-raising on Mount Suribachi are deeply embedded in both Marine Corps tradition and American national identity. The July 4th weekend offers a fitting time to reflect on this powerful chapter in the history of American freedom.
This event is included with regular museum admission or free for annual members. A lunch buffet will be available for an additional fee. No reservations are required.
