SVI Radio Interview: Logan Mac, Lincoln County Fair Performer

Country singer/songwriter Logan Mac called into SVI Radio’s Weekday Wake-up to discuss performing under the Big Top at the Lincoln County Fair Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

(0:00) Touching base with one of the big top performers at this year’s Lincoln County Fair. He’ll be here (0:05) Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Coming from Oklahoma, that’s Logan Mack performing at this (0:11) year’s county fair.
Logan, good morning. How are you today? Morning, how are you doing? Hey, doing (0:15) well. Appreciate your time.
Excited to have you in Lincoln County here for our fair. Tell us about (0:20) yourself from Oklahoma, looks like. Yeah, like I said, my name is Logan.
I’m from Washington, (0:26) Oklahoma. I own a construction company and play music for half a living right now, (0:34) hopefully for a whole living pretty soon, and got a wife and three beautiful little daughters that (0:38) go on the road with me, and we just go around and play shows and trying to build this thing. (0:44) Excellent.
Love it, love it. How did you get into music or why are you trying to pursue a (0:50) career in music? What attracts you to that? Man, I was sitting in the back seat of my mom’s car (0:55) when I was about eight years old, and I told her, well, I want to do what this guy’s doing on the (0:59) radio, and so I just haven’t stopped chasing it since then, and singing and writing. Just a lot (1:06) of Red Dirt guys around here inspired me and their way of playing music, and so that’s all I’ve known (1:12) since I was little, was just chasing, trying to chase this dream.
Well, you mentioned Red Dirt, (1:17) so I assume that’s kind of your style. What kind of music will you be performing for us? (1:22) Yeah, I mean, I just have some, it’s kind of Red Dirty, but it’s just more singer-songwriter, (1:28) you know, kind of a little bit of a mix of Jason Isbell and Jason Bowen and Stoney LaRue, (1:34) and all those guys kind of combined together. You can definitely tell where I am through my (1:39) music and who I am, so yeah, it’s just some good old singer-songwriter stuff.
(1:45) Logan Mack with us on the Weekday Wakeup this morning. Logan performs under the Big Top at (1:49) Lincoln County Fair on Thursday at 10 a.m., Friday 3 and 9 p.m., and then again Saturday at (1:55) 1. Also on the Tiny Top a couple of times, Thursday at 2.30, Saturday at 5.30, and of course you can (2:00) find the full schedule of all the performances at lincolncountyfair.info. So Logan, what do you (2:06) enjoy most about being on stage? You mentioned how you’re trying to make this become the full-time (2:10) career for you. When you’re on stage interacting with the audience, what do you enjoy the most? (2:17) Man, just when you can tell that the song’s resonating with the crowd.
A lot of the times (2:22) it’s hard to get the crowd’s attention when you’re playing music. There’s a lot going on, but (2:26) when you actually see the whole crowd’s head turn off of a sentence you said in a song, (2:33) that’s what it’s all about for me, is seeing that other people feel the same way I do. (2:39) Sometimes somebody else has got to say it, though, for you to realize it.
But that’s pretty cool, (2:44) just seeing their reaction to songs that I wrote. No doubt. You mentioned, of course, (2:49) you write a lot of these songs, singer-songwriter.
Is there a song or two that are your favorites (2:54) that you really like us to watch out for when you perform? Yeah, I love Redbird. Redbird’s a song (3:05) about losing someone. So Redbird’s definitely a crowd favorite when I play it.
I’ve got two (3:13) new songs that I wrote last week that I’m really excited about playing for everybody. (3:18) One’s called Baptist Parking Lot, and the other one’s called Memories. They’re really fun.
They’re (3:24) definitely different from everything else I’ve written. You can kind of see my growth in writing (3:29) through those two songs, I believe. So I’m excited to play those two.
Very cool. Looking forward to (3:34) have you perform at the Lincoln County Fair Thursday, Friday, Saturday. That’s Logan Mack (3:37) coming out to Lincoln County for his performances under the Big Top and Tiny Top.
Logan, if we want (3:42) to find your music and get to know you before you hit the stage, how do we do that? The best way is (3:49) loganmackmusic.com, and that’s L-O-G-A-N-M-A-C, music.com. Everything’s on there, the links to (3:56) Spotify, Apple, website, all of it. Clothes, whatever, all the merch, everything. loganmackmusic.com (4:04) Performing at the Lincoln County Fair Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Big Top and Tiny Top.
