Stephanie Cooper, President of the Rotary Club of Star Valley, and Karen Morgan, District Governor with Rotary International, spoke with SVI Media’s Dan Dockstader to provide an update on the club and how they are actively involved in the Star Valley community.

(0:00) SBI with Stephanie Cooper. She’s the Rotary Club President in Star Valley. (0:04) And Karen Morgan, she’s the District Governor.
(0:06) Stephanie, first of all, for you, tell us what Rotary is in Star Valley. (0:11) Rotary in Star Valley is commitment to our community. (0:15) It’s service to our community.
(0:18) It’s taking care of each other and hopefully filling in the gaps that community needs. (0:24) You meet every week as a club, right? (0:26) We try to. (0:27) Generally at the Silver Star offices? (0:28) Most times, yes.
We try and meet every couple weeks at least. (0:33) But yes, mostly at the Silver Star and thing. (0:35) And occasionally you get a visit from the District Governor.
(0:39) District Governor Karen Morgan, tell us what Rotary is at your level. (0:42) Well, Rotary at my level is comprised of a geographic area that includes northern Colorado, (0:49) all of Wyoming, a couple clubs in western Nebraska, one in southeast Idaho. (0:54) And we provide support services so that our clubs can do the important work they do in their communities.
(1:02) So we work as a team to provide tools and resources that will help their clubs thrive and be successful. (1:10) What might be an example of how you would help the Star Valley Rotary Club? (1:13) So we recently developed an external-facing website that is geared to appeal to folks (1:23) who are looking for ways to give back to their community through community service or professional networking. (1:30) And it helps them find clubs in their local area.
(1:33) So that’s just one of the things we do. (1:35) We also provide training seminars on all the various aspects of Rotary. (1:40) Rotary International is comprised of 1.2 million members worldwide in 200 different countries, (1:49) which is more countries than there are in the United Nations.
(1:52) Busy playing, so let’s conclude with Stephanie Cooper, President of the Star Valley Rotary Club. (1:57) Stephanie, any concluding comments as far as the Star Valley Rotary Club, how people get involved, etc.? (2:03) Well, we’re a professional network and we want to invite any professionals that want to come join our club (2:10) to just hang out and try a meeting and come find out what we’re all about. (2:16) Wednesday mornings, 7 o’clock at the Silver Star offices? (2:19) Most times, yes.
I’m happy to reach out to our club email and ask if we’re having a meeting, we can fill you in from there. (2:27) Stephanie Cooper, President of the Star Valley Rotary Club. (2:30) And Karen Morgan, she’s the District Governor for Rotary.
(2:34) Dan Doxt at our SBA media.
