Independent Notes: Wyoming leads the nation in so many ways.

Lincoln County appears to be ahead of the nation as it relates to Nuclear Power.

Dan Dockstader

I took a couple of days this week and joined the National Council of State Legislators at their meeting in Chicago.

My focus was on two sessions — the nuclear development occurring across the nation and fulfilling a committee assignment on Natural Resources for Wyoming with that organization.

Our report from Lincoln County, the Natrium Nuclear site, in part, the sodium test facility is substantially complete and the next building up for construction will be the reactor fabrication facility.

Lincoln County leads the way and this note, the Lincoln County based workforce is exceeding exceptions.

One particular note. I observed that Kemmerer is well known with those attending from across the nation.

As for Natural resources, again I was glad to attend and comment on their topics but noted again, Wyoming is ahead. Just one example — our small timber cuts in western Wyoming, both in the planning stages and completed.

It’s an honor to be a part of a state that leads the way.
