Friends of Afton Elementary School will want to mark their calendars for the Afton PTO Family Fun Night Fundraiser February 3 from 4-8 p.m. at the Pizza Hut in Afton. All sales throughout the entire day, including dine-in, carry-out and delivery orders, will earn AES 20 percent of the day’s proceeds.
The evening offers a special treat to students and their families. Not only can they enjoy a meal, but faculty members from AES will serve as wait staff from 4-8 p.m. The PTO is currently creating a schedule for teachers to participate, and students will be informed of the schedule during the school day on Monday, February 2 and Tuesday, February 3.
Patrons ordering online need only use the code C7 to contribute to the fundraiser. Folks dining in can use the code or show the digital flyer that accompanies this article to participate in the fundraiser. Pizza Hut will also offer delivery services throughout the day, and any delivery orders taken with the code will also support the fundraiser.
The AES PTO hopes that the community will take an opportunity to support and enjoy this “delicious combination,” as PTO partners with Pizza Hut to support education.
Kortney Worton, AES PTO Representative, hopes that the community will support the fundraiser, as funds are designated to support the school’s new House Program that is designed to teach social emotional skills and awareness. “Grandparents, aunts, uncles cousins, friends and neighbors” are encouraged to come out in support of the fundraiser.
The House Program is intended to support students are they learn “leadership, kindness, responsibility and build strong character,” said Worton. “We want them to enjoy being there when their teachers are there, but the fundraiser code will work all day. We want to support the program, making it fun and educational.”
“We live in a great community,” said Worton. “We want our children to become the leaders that they were meant to be. They will lead the next generation, and this is a way that we can support them.” She hopes that they will know that the community believes in them. “This shows love and support to the children and I feel like they already do good, so let’s show that they can still continue to do good.”
