Construction of a new Etna Chapel for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will start in the coming month.
The site on the east side of U.S. Highway 89 in Etna, where the current church is located, will be prepared for a larger facility to accommodative up to four congregations called wards.
“It is a four ward building and upon completion will be the home to the Etna, Star Valley Ranch and Freedom communities and their congregations,” Trent White, Thayne Stake Communications Director for the church said this week.
“The new building will have stake (regional) offices but there are no plans to utilize them,” he said of the initial opening for the building.
Construction will continue throughout the summer and fall.
“We expect construction to start about April 1, starting with demolishing the current building and preparing the site for a new, bigger building with plenty of parking.”
