Future school calendars approved for LCSD#2

Lincoln County School District #2 (LCSD#2) has received word that their alternate hybrid calendars for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years have been approved at the state level.

Districts in Wyoming are expected to be on a 175-day instructional calendar. If they determine to use an alternative or calendar such as LCSD#2 has used in recent years with four and five day weeks, they must meet “seat time” requirements for a minimum amount of instructional time. Those alternative or “hybrid” calendars for those two school years can be approved up to two years in advance which is what LCSD#2 chooses to do according to Superintendent Matt Erickson.

The LCSD#2 Board of Trustees approved the upcoming alternative calendar, which will be very similar to the current version, which has now been approved by the Wyoming State Board of Education.

The 2026-27 and 2027-28 school calendars can be found on the district website, lcsd2.org and also on the LCSD#2 Facebook page
