Prior to cutting the ribbon, Dave Jenkins, who serves as Chairman of the Alpine Board of Education, expressed gratitude to board members of the Alpine Education Foundation and the Alpine Board of Education, Town of Alpine officials, legislators, subcontractors, donors, businesses that donated materials and subcontractors who have worked since 2022 to bring the school into existence. “So many have given their time and their energy.” Countless donors and organizations helped with financing. “Everyone who wrote checks, big and small, came to our golf tournaments, came to our galas, we just thank you all for being a part of that.”

Jenkins expressed gratitude to families who have enrolled their children. “Thank you for your trust. Thank you for choosing this school. It’s an opportunity for children to learn and grow, build character and become prepared to serve their families, their community and their country.”

Referencing the role of the Alpine Board of Education and the Alpine Education Foundation boards with members who “have given countless hours of their time, their unity. They work full time jobs and raise families. They show up and this would not have happened without them.”

Mayor Eric Green took a moment, expressing gratitude to Jenkins and pride in the community. “Today marks the opening of more than just a new building. This school represents an investment in our children, families and the community. Alpine has long been a great place to live, work and recreate, but today Alpine becomes something even more – a community with its own school. This ribbon cutting celebrates not just the school, but the beginning of a new chapter in Alpine that will hopefully inspire learning, opportunity and community pride for years to come. Congratulations to everyone involved, and I officially welcome the Wyoming Classical Academy to the community.”

Dr. Alex Oliver shared his experience as the newly hired WCAA Headmaster in the town of Alpine. Community members have continually approached him asking how they could help, willing to “bend over backwards to make it happen.” He enthusiastically looks forward to having children and their smiles fill the building in the fall.

Enrollment at the Academy is open to students in kindergarten through sixth grade for the Fall of 2026.  Officials plan to expand enrollment by 2032, welcoming kindergarten through 12th grade students at that time.

“Wyoming Classical Academy-Alpine is the result of many hands, many hearts and represents a commitment to our children and to the community of Alpine,” said Jenkins. ““It’s about work, sacrifice and persistence and a shared belief that the children in our community deserve something meaningful and lasting. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for your time, your generosity, your faith, your perseverance. I am honored to celebrate this moment with all of you.”
