The Lincoln County Republican Party made the decision to not endorse specific candidates during a special meeting held July 8 in Cokeville. According to Chairman Lance Oviatt, the Central Committee voted to not endorse candidates “due to a lack of information.”
Oviatt explained that a survey was sent to candidates running for county and state offices and asked them to complete the survey if they wished to be considered for endorsement. Five of the twenty candidates responded saying they were in favor of endorsements, while the remaining fifteen either did not respond or responded as being opposed.
After discussion by the Central Committee, a vote was taken and a decision made by majority.
