An accident involving a man on a bicycle resulted in a fatality on Saturday August 1. Reports indicate that Eddie Hunsaker, 82, was riding his bicycle when he collided with the vehicle of Afton Police Chief Jason Romberg on U.S. 89 on the south end of Afton.
“Chief Romberg was parked off the roadway and not in the lane of travel waiting for a funeral escort,” stated Sgt. Luke Awtry of the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP). While he was parked a man on an electric bike collided with his vehicle.”
Hunsaker, who was wearing a bike helmet at the time, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and those on the scene began life-saving measures before he was taken for medical care.
