• Deadline to file is August 24

The filing period has opened for those interested in running for positions on local school and hospital boards and other special districts. Interested candidates should file with the Lincoln County Clerk’s Office between August 5 and August 24.

In Lincoln County School District #2, four school board positions are up for election. Open seats include Area 1 (currently held by Timothy Teichert), Area 2 (currently held by Lynn Call), Area 5 (currently held by David Jenkins) and one At-Large seat (currently held by Connie Day). All areas are for four year terms with the exception of Area 1 which will fill an unexpired 2-year term as the seat is currently being filled by an appointed board member.

“We would encourage you if you live in those areas and have an interest to give us a call, talk to a current board member and come check out what’s going on,” said LCSD#2 Superintendent Matt Erickson. “I know Chairman Simpson would be happy to talk to anybody that’s considering filing.”

In addition there is one board position up for election in the North Lincoln Hospital District, also a 4-year term, along with a 4-year term in the Cokeville Hospital District.

Additional board positions are up for election in the Cokeville Cemetery, Star Valley Conservation, Upper Valley Fire, Mid-Valley Fire and Alpine Fire Districts. A complete list of open positions, along with application details, can be found at LincolnCountyWY.gov and navigating to the County Clerk’s page.

Voting for these positions will take place during the General Election in November.
