Students at Wyoming Classical Academy-Alpine (WCA) have selected the Eagle to be the charter school’s official mascot. The students voted between three finalists, with Mountain Goat and Osprey being the other two final options. The top three were also selected by a student vote, after a list of eight options were created from suggestions from families.
“The scholars were very excited about selecting the Eagle as our school mascot,” Dr. Alex Oliver, Headmaster of WCA-Alpine, told SVI Media.
Oliver clarified that an AI generated logo with an eagle posted to social media will not be the school’s official logo, but was simply used as an example to help the students vote. “Our next step is to get the scholars involved in the creative process,” Oliver continued. “They will each have an opportunity to design their own interpretation of what they would like the WCA-Alpine Eagle mascot and logo to look like.”
From the student submissions, a design or concept will be selected and given to a professional designer to develop into the official WCA-Alpine Eagles logo.
Wyoming Classical Academy-Alpine recently began its inaugural school year with grades K-6 participating. The tuition-free charter school plans to add a grade each year, eventually growing into a K-12 school. Additional details can be found at Alpine.WyoClassical.org.
