Bridger-Teton National Forest offers firewood permits

Personal use firewood permits are now available for the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The price per cord is $7, with a minimum purchase of five cords for $35. The maximum amount of firewood that may be purchased by each household is ten cords.

Alternatively, individuals can order their firewood permit over the phone and have it mailed directly to them. This is done by calling the Big Piney, Blackrock, Greys River, Jackson, Kemmerer or Pinedale ranger district offices and providing the required information. Once delivered, the purchaser is then required to sign and date their permit to finalize the process prior to collecting firewood.

All forest off-road travel restrictions apply and will be enforced, thus requiring each firewood gatherer to know where they are and to be mindful of any current travel restrictions.
