The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two individuals found in southern Lincoln County in the Town of Opal.
Sheriff Shane Johnson said a report was received on July 1 of two deceased individuals in a camper trailer. The bodies have been identified as Tracy Lee Atkinson, 50, of Fruit Heights, Utah and Angela D. Wolsey, 46, of Lyman, Wyoming.
“They hadn’t been seen in a few days,” explained Sheriff Johnson in a live interview on SVI Radio. “The people who lived nearby went and checked on them.”
While the Sheriff’s Office is awaiting official results form the Lincoln County Coroner’s Office, Sheriff Johnson said it is believed the two deaths were caused by a drug overdose based on evidence and paraphernalia found at the scene.
“Of course that’s still ongoing with testing of evidence and blood, so we’ll have some more answers after that,” explained Sheriff Johnson in regards to the ongoing investigation. “But there was nothing at the scene that would lead us to believe that there was anything nefarious as far as violence or anything like that.”
