The high school sports season is down to its last day as teams rolled through Friday’s slate of events. The Lady Braves scored 30 team points through the first two days of action which puts them seventh overall in the 15-team classification. Kelly Walsh and Natrona County the two 4A West schools who finished first and second at the regional meet are at the top with 76 and 70 points respectively followed by Laramie at 65.5.

Individuals who scored on Friday for the Lady Braves included sophomore Kelsie Dunne who placed fifth in the 800 meter run with at time of 2:20.66. This is just over a second off the current SVHS school record. Dunne was also part of the 4×800 relay which placed fourth overall, combining with Carlee Angell, Evelyn Scharmann and Gracey Visser to log a time of 9:39.33.

The girls also scored in the 4×100 relay with a time of 50.18 which was good for fifth. The squad of Zoe Jones, Arianna Foster, Chloe Richmond and Kate Gaskell comprised the group. In the field events, Abigail Carrillo-Zarate smashed her own discus record yet again with a throw of 128′ 5″ to place fifth in the standings. Her throw broke her previous mark by more than eight feet. Finally, Adelyn Christiansen placed eighth in the long jump with a distance of 17′ 0.25″.

For the Braves, they finished the second day with 23 total points which was also good for seventh overall. A pair of fourth place event finishes helped them add to their total as the 4×800 relay ran a 8:06.32 with the quartet of Colton Cranney, Caleb Crowther, Luke Harris and Brigham Hahn. Jonah Manu also placed fourth in the discus with a distance of 156′ 8″. Elijah Matautia was seventh in the event with a distance of 149′ 6″.

Saturday will be the last day of competition for the season.
