• Residents asked to report suspicious activity

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of thefts at local storage units in the Afton area and are asking the community to be aware of and report any suspicious activity.

“We’ve had a number of storage shed burglaries over the last few weeks,” said Lincoln County Sheriff Shane Johnson during a live interview on SVI Radio. “It’s an active case we’re working. I feel like we’re making some progress.”

Sheriff Johnson advised residents to check their storage units to make sure all belongings are secure, but also to be on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary.

“The business owners are very good to work with us. But individually, if you have storage units go check them. If you feel like there’s something out of place or something doesn’t look quite right make sure you call us. We’d much rather respond to find out that everything’s okay than be told a few days later. If you see something suspicious, like a car hanging out there or something, call it in.”
