An Idaho-based snack manufacturer has voluntarily recalled nearly 30,000 ready-to-eat beef sticks after customers reported metal in the product.

The recall affects 29,541 pounds of of the beef snacks which were shipped to California and Illnois with the warning that they may be contaminated with metal.

According to the company, Chomps decided to voluntarily expand the real to include the Chomps Original Turkey sticks to ensure that any possible product packaged druring that timeframe was removed.

No injuries have been confirmed due to the consumption of the snacks.

“Prioritizing the safety and trust of our customers is at the heart of everything we do,” the Chomps company made in a statement on Saturday. “Out of an abundance of caution, Chomps made the decision to include additional product beyond what was required to ensure all potentially affected items were removed from the market.”

The potentially contaminated ready-to-eat beef and turkey sticks were packaged at a single facility between January 16 and January 23, 2025, according to the Chomps recall website. The beef sticks have a Feb. 10, 2026 expiration date.
