SVI Radio Interview: Bryan & Jennie Drollinger, Thayne Food Bank Fundraiser

Bryan & Jennie Drollinger, a local couple named America’s Favorite Couple, stepped into the SVI Radio studio to promote an upcoming fundraiser event for the Thayne Food Bank.

(0:00) Live in studio here on the weekday, wake up Brian and Jenny Drollinger stepping (0:05) into the SVI radio studio, Brian, Jenny, good morning. (0:08) How are you guys doing today? (0:10) Great. (0:10) Fabulous.

(0:10) Well, I kind of feel like I’m in the presence of royalty right now. (0:13) Actually the 2025 America’s couple of the year, the, for the whole (0:19) United States couple of the year. (0:21) That’s a pretty cool accomplishment.

(0:22) First off, congrats to you guys. (0:24) What was the, what was the award ceremony? (0:26) Well, um, Jeff Goldblum, Ted Danson and his wife presented us, you know, the, (0:32) the winnings, the $20,000 check that’s going towards our publishing of our book, (0:38) our novel, and also, um, the script that was written before this even happened. (0:45) So it was amazing to be in the presence of those celebrities.

(0:49) That’s very cool. (0:50) Plus, uh, it was all for a great cause because, uh, a lot of the proceeds from (0:55) this whole thing went towards, uh, a food bank, a regional food bank and Oceana (1:01) and Oceana and, and how much it was almost $4 million competition raised (1:06) almost $4 million. (1:07) So thank you to everybody out there for the votes.

(1:09) Your money went to a good cause. (1:11) So that’s very cool. (1:12) Well, congratulations again.

(1:14) And, uh, you’re, you’re kind of using this as we’ve talked about to, to launch (1:18) your book and everything moving forward, but you’re also using it to help out in (1:22) a great local cause as well with the local, one of the local food banks right (1:26) here. (1:26) Yes. (1:27) Right.

(1:27) And thing. (1:27) Yeah. (1:28) Tell us about it.

(1:28) What’s happening this week. (1:29) So on Thursday night, we’re having a ladies nacho, an evening bingo, um, at (1:36) the thing community center. (1:38) Um, I’m trying to think of what time it’s at.

(1:41) Uh, 6, 8 PM. (1:43) Yeah, there we go. (1:43) Right.

(1:44) Yes. (1:44) Yes. (1:44) I got the flyer to you.

(1:45) So yes. (1:46) And if anybody, um, would like to 12 and up, um, ladies, moms, bring your (1:52) daughters, your neighbors, your friends, your granddaughters come and play bingo (1:55) with us and bring some food for the food bank that we’ll take over to support our (2:00) local community. (2:01) And this’ll go to the, uh, the thing food bank, all those donations, right? (2:05) Absolutely.

(2:05) So that happens this, uh, upcoming, what is it? (2:08) Thursday is the 16th. (2:09) So Thursday from 6, 8 PM at the star Valley ranch town hall, nacho (2:14) mama’s community bingo, love it. (2:18) Brian and Jenny drawlings are stepping in studio.

(2:20) And, uh, and Brian, maybe, maybe share your thoughts with that. (2:23) Um, I mean, kind of using that becoming America’s favorite couple (2:28) to give back to the community. (2:30) I love that idea.

(2:31) I mean, I think it’s great that, uh, that we’re, that we’re doing something (2:34) in Thane, something local, local here. (2:36) Um, and it was kind of a springboard for, like Jenny said, for the book and (2:39) everything, but, but, um, going down there and meeting the CEO of the food bank (2:44) down in LA, that was really cool. (2:46) Um, understanding where it’s all going.

(2:48) I mean, just, just, uh, it was really, really cool that people were able to (2:53) raise that much money to help all those people. (2:56) And then we also, um, did not realize that so many people lost their jobs (3:00) with the Palisades fire and, you know, um, landscapers, nannies, even though (3:06) the fires happen in a wealthier area, it, a lot of jobs, a lot of people, (3:11) and 90% of the food for the LA food bank provides, goes to housed families (3:18) and they run out of food. (3:20) So now that this is like literally millions of meals a month, right? (3:26) Yeah.

(3:27) 2 million meals a month. (3:28) And it’s, and the, and it’s going up and up and up. (3:32) And so that, you know, spread the thought to us, what’s (3:35) happening in our local area.

(3:37) And, you know, me being a former single mom, you know, trying to put food on (3:40) the table without support of, uh, of the father, you know, I just think about (3:45) of those single moms out there trying to just make it and make kids meet. (3:50) Absolutely. (3:50) So it’s a, it’s absolutely great cause.

(3:53) Nacho Mama’s community bingo this Thursday, 68 PM ladies, only ages 12 and (3:57) at the starbuddy ranch town hall, bring a food bank donation that will (4:00) be given to the Thane food bank. (4:02) So that’s Brian and Jenny drawling. (4:04) You’re in studio.

(4:04) Remind us where your website, where people can go to see the book coming up (4:09) secondchanceonlove.com. (4:10) Perfect. (4:11) America’s favorite couple, Brian and Jenny drawling. (4:14) You’re in studio this morning.
