JACKSON (WNE) — Federal prosecutors have charged two men with trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine in Jackson, alleging the pair supplied narcotics during controlled buys and kept hundreds of grams of drugs and a firearm inside a Jackson apartment.
Isaac Jared Hernandez Valente, 24, of Alta, faces three federal felony counts tied to cocaine and methamphetamine deliveries. Angel Osvaldo Cisneros-Montes, 26, of Jackson, is charged with five federal felony counts, including conspiracy, distribution and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine.
If convicted on all counts, Cisneros-Montes faces statutory maximum penalties totaling up to 135 years in prison, while Hernandez Valente faces up to 80 years, based on the charged federal offenses.
Cisneros-Montes also faces a firearm charge tied to his alleged immigration status, according to federal court records.
Both men remain detained under federal authority.
According to investigators, the case was built using confidential informants, surveillance, GPS tracking and search warrants. Court records state that Cisneros-Montes was found with more than 400 grams of methamphetamine, cocaine and a revolver.
The investigation began with controlled purchases arranged through a confidential informant.
On Nov. 6, law enforcement executed search warrants on Cisneros-Montes’ residence and vehicle. Officers reported locating approximately 409 grams of methamphetamine; 11 grams of cocaine; drug-distribution materials and a Smith & Wesson revolver inside a bedroom safe.
The following day, Nov. 7, both defendants were arrested. They first appeared in Teton County Circuit Court, where Judge Erin Weisman set $50,000 cash-only bonds in related state cases.
That same day, federal prosecutors filed a sealed criminal complaint in U.S. District Court in Wyoming, formally launching the federal case.
