Dr. Savannah Eccles Johnston, Assistant Professor of Constitutional Government, Civics & Law and the Director of the M.A. in Constitutional Government, Civics & Law at Utah Valley University, is scheduled to present a community lecture on Thursday, April 30, at 7 p.m. in the Star Valley High School auditorium.
“We are honored to have Dr. Savanna Eccles Johnston as our guest speaker for the America 250 assembly and evening presentation as we celebrate the spirit and history of our nation,” said Farren Haderlie, SVHS Principal. “We hope to remember and highlight that the story of America is shaped by courage, service, sacrifice, and the responsibility each generation has to lead with character.”
In addition to serving as a professor at UVU, Johnston publishes civic content on her YouTube and Instagram accounts, SavyPolitics, and is the co-host of the podcast “This Constitution.” Community members are invited to learn more about the history of the country’s constitution and how to understand, uphold and protect it.
Haderlie expressed gratitude to Johnston for “taking the time to inspire and share with our students, staff, and community as we reflect on our nation’s past and look forward to its future.” Come learn, engage and celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. All students, families and community members are welcome. Admission is free.
