Hovorka selected as Alpine administrator

Riley Hovorka

Alpine has reached an agreement to hire a new town administrator to address the needs of a growing Wyoming community.

The Alpine Town Council approved Riley Hovorka, the current clerk for the town of Jackson for the position.

“She is going to be taking over, kind of transitioning out of a role that she has up at the town of Jackson and be full time at the end of June,” Mayor Eric Green reported. “We’re very excited about that. With the town of Alpine and how fast it’s growing and everything we have going on, it’s been something  that the town has needed for quite a while.”

Hovorka will help support many of the town’s general responsibilities and services.

“Most of the small towns in Wyoming, the mayor pretty much runs the town, hiring, firing, coming up with agendas, kind of leading the town in a direction,” Green explained. “And when you hire an administrator, a lot of those duties can are taken away from the mayor, and the administrator can take that on.”

He noted, “Then you have someone that works full time for the town doing those things instead of having the mayor, who is typically busy with other things, be responsible for those [things].”

Mayor Green concluded, “It’s a really good thing for the town. And I think the residents in the Town of Alpine will find that Riley’s leadership will help take the way that we govern to the next level.”
