Lower Valley Energy members elected directors to represent Districts 1, 2, 6, and 7 during the cooperative’s 2026 Board of Director election.
Election results were announced Thursday evening at the cooperative’s Annual Meeting, where members also received updates on the cooperative’s financial condition, operations, and future priorities.
A record percentage of members participated in this year’s board elections at nearly 20% of the eligible members to vote participated. The record participation reflects the strong engagement of Lower Valley Energy’s member-owners and their commitment to the cooperative’s democratic governance process.

• District 2 – Devin Simpson
• District 6 – Max Moran (Uncontested)
• District 7 – Stina Brock
Lower Valley Energy extends its appreciation to all candidates who were willing to serve and to the members who participated in the cooperative’s democratic election process.
During the Annual Meeting, Secretary/Treasurer Ray Elser presented the cooperative’s financial report and summarized the results of the most recent independent audit. Elser reported that Lower Valley Energy remains on stable financial footing and received a clean audit opinion, reflecting the cooperative’s commitment to responsible financial management and stewardship of member resources.
Chief Executive Officer, Bear Prairie provided members with an update on the opportunities and challenges facing the cooperative as it continues to serve a growing region. Prairie discussed the importance of investing in infrastructure, maintaining system reliability, developing the workforce, and ensuring the cooperative remains well-positioned to meet the needs of its growing membership.
Prairie also recognized former Chief Executive Officer Jim Webb for his 32 years of dedicated service to Lower Valley Energy members and the significant contributions he made to the cooperative and the communities it serves.
“As our communities continue to grow, Lower Valley Energy must continue investing in the infrastructure, people, and technology necessary to maintain the reliable service our members depend on,” Prairie said. “In western Wyoming and eastern Idaho, especially during the winter months, electricity and natural gas are necessities. Our responsibility is to ensure we are prepared to safely and reliably serve our members for generations to come.”
As a member-owned cooperative, Lower Valley Energy is governed by a locally elected Board of Directors who represent the interests of the members they serve. The cooperative remains focused on providing safe, reliable, and affordable energy while making the investments necessary to support continued growth throughout the region.
