CODY (WNE) — The internal lockdown placed on Cody Regional Health following a bomb threat on Tuesday afternoon was lifted later that day.
Lt. Juston Wead with the Cody Police Department reported that the hospital received a phone call on a blocked number with a bomb threat. He said that CRH “rightfully called it in and placed the hospital on lockdown.”
On Wednesday morning, Wead said police had “hit a dead end” with tracing the call. Because the call was blocked, the caller information remains unavailable to police.
Ultimately, Wead said, the police concluded the call to have been swatting.
On Tuesday, both the Park County Sheriff’s and Cody Police departments had responded and swept the building. Ultimately, Wead said, authorities determined that the facility was clear and the lockdown was lifted.
“Things are returning to normal,” he said. “We do not believe there is any other risk to the public at this time.”
