Star Valley Health is planning a more interactive presence at this year’s Lincoln County Fair, with staff from several departments set to meet with attendees throughout the week.
Mike Hunsaker, COO of Star Valley Health, said the health system will use its fair booth to help residents learn more about services available close to home.
“This year our approach is a little bit different,” Hunsaker said. “We’re going to have different specialties from Star Valley Health come to our fair booth to greet the public and get to know folks in the community.”
The booth will feature a different department each day from August 3 through August 8. Oncology and infusion will be featured on August 3, followed by ear, nose and throat on August 4, cardiology on August 5, obstetrics and labor and delivery on August 6, orthopedics on August 7, and EMS and emergency services on August 8.
Hunsaker said the goal is to help residents better understand what is available locally.
“The key to this for us is for people to know what we offer so they can stay closer to home if they’d like to get their care,” he said.
Most booth hours will run from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with August 8 scheduled from 2 to 7 p.m. Star Valley Health will also have games, prizes and giveaways for fairgoers
