Lois Barber

Our beloved Lois G. Barber passed away December 18, 2020 at Star Valley Health with complications of a broken hip at the age 92.

She was born to parents Ray and Winona Goodfellow (deceased) in Burley, Idaho. She grew up with her siblings Betty Lou Staley (deceased), Doris Wilson, Richard Goodfellow, Darrel Goodfellow (deceased), and Reid Goodfellow (deceased).

Lois married Douglas Barber and moved to Centerville, Utah where they built their lives with six beloved children Kathleen Garrison, Stephen Barber (deceased), Donald Barber, Farrin Barber, Cynthia Barber, and Lynette Anderson. She continued the family legacy with six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Lois and Doug moved to Alpine, Wyoming in 1978 to build a family business known as BG’s mercantile. Their hard work and dedication to the community is still withstanding with the business known as Bananas. Lois later moved to Jackson in 1998 to work at Ripley’s Believe it or Not for 10 years and graced another community with her kindness and diligent loyalty.

The love and selflessness of Lois will forever be ingrained in our hearts. She taught everyone in her presence the importance of persevering no matter what circumstances were thrown her way and to always protect and forgive those you love.

There is no better way to describe Lois’ personality than “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves. Love never fails.” -1 Corinthians 13:4-8

In honor of Lois close family and friends will host a Celebration of Life in Centerville, Utah this spring. Please contact us if you would like to join.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to a hospital or medical facility that has special meaning to you to pay forward the care Lois received.
