The Wyoming Highway Patrol is again reminding motorists of the importance of buckling up after only minor injuries were sustained in a single vehicle rollover near Alpine on Tuesday.
The accident occurred in the afternoon on Highway 89. WHP’s responding officer told SVI News that a Worland, Wyoming woman was driving while drowsy and may have fallen asleep at the wheel. The vehicle slid approximately 365 feet, rotating clockwise before hitting an earth berm, causing the vehicle to roll onto the driver’s side before coming back to its wheels. The driver, along with her two kids who were in the car, were all properly buckled and received only minor cuts and some back pain.
WHP said that had seatbelts not been in use the accident likely would have resulted in more severe injuries.
