The Lyman Eagles have a tough stretch on their schedule coming up with a pair of top ranked teams on tap with Pinedale and Mountain View at the time of the interview so Aaron and Dahl sat down with 2A’s top defensive takeaway-producer in Caroline Bradshaw to discuss it. Caroline says the team is mostly excited above everything else for the upcoming tough tests and that nerves aren’t particularly a factor at least that she can with the rest of the team.
Caroline also credits her speed as the main reason for her ability to stay ahead of the rest of the class in steals “I like to play cat and mouse a little bit and when I see a pass I want to just go and steal it” as she stated. Her speed has in fact been a huge contributing factor for the team this season and has been a huge reason for the Eagles currently ranking 2nd in 2A defensively as its hard to score points against a team if they just keep taking the ball away from you.
The Bradshaw name is not a new one to the Lyman Eagles athletics either, Caroline’s twin sister Sage is one of the leading scorers across the state of Wyoming and their brother Carter plays Quarterback for the football team and brought them all the way to the final 4 in the 2A playoffs this previous fall. McKinley Bradshaw also happens to be Caroline and Sage’s older sister who Caroline views as her biggest inspiration as far as other players she looked up to and of course their sister signed on back in 2018 to play basketball at the division 1 level for the Wyoming Cowgirls.
A huge part of the upcoming matchup with Mountain View as well is the proximity of course of the 2 schools, in Wyoming it is obviously very rare for 2 high schools to be in such close proximity to one another especially then to also play in the same classification as well. On top of just the proximity as well, Mountain View is currently seen as the class of the 2A Southwest and maybe all of 2A as a whole so it is not only a battle for the local grocery store bragging rights but also a huge test against a top tier contender going into postseason play.
