Paige Anne, a former contestant of SVI Media’s Vocalist singing competition from Idaho Falls, ID, advanced to the Top 20 of American Idol on Sunday, April 23.
After being announced in the Top 20, Anne performed an emotional rendition of “Say Something” by A Great Big World. Afterwards Katy Perry admitted that the judges were wrong to eliminate Paige, saying that the 17-year-old is “the best vocalist” in her age range “hands down.” Paige was previously eliminated from the show by the three judges during a sing-off, only to be invited back to the competition.
Following the announcement of the Top 20, America was able to once again vote for their favorites. Voting ended at 5:00 a.m. Monday morning. The Top 12 will be announced live Monday night on ABC.
Paige competed in The Vocalist in 2020 where she finished as runner-up. The competition is hosted by SVI Media and is held during the Lincoln County Fair. Auditions for this year’s Vocalist are open now at TheVocalistUSA.com.
