At approximately 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 3, members of the Afton Police Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP), the Afton Volunteer Fire Department and Star Valley EMS responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. 89 near the Kodiak Mountain Resort.

According to Afton Police Chief Jason Romberg, some injuries have been reported and those involved have been transported for medical care but the extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.

The cause of the crash is also undetermined at this time with an ongoing investigation under the authority of the WHP.

The southbound lane is currently closed while officials work the scene but traffic control is set up to allow for traffic to pass through.
