• Top of Rockies and American Legion donate $560

Alpine’s Top of the Rockies snowmobile club, in collaboration with the American Legion in Alpine, have donated $560 to Etna Elementary School to support students who attend there.

“Top of the Rockies and the American Legion host Bingo together in Alpine,” shared Andrea Burchard, who serves in a leadership position with the snowmobile club. “We have a 50/50 raffle each time, and together, we pick a worthy cause to donate the funds to.  We chose EES because it serves our community directly. We also just submitted a ‘Caring for the Community’ grant request to SilverStar, and since we don’t have any active projects that we need funds for, we applied on behalf of EES. I don’t think the community realizes that the schools can always use donations.”

EES administrators are grateful for the generosity demonstrated by the snowmobile club and the American Legion.  “It is so much appreciated, and Etna Elementary acknowledges the club and the American Legion,” said Claudia Baker, speaking for the administration. “We sent them thank you notes and very much appreciate the community support for Etna Elementary students.”
