U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Wyoming State Director Tyler Harrison today announced the agency is awarding a $1 million grant to Nordic Ranches Community Water and Sewer District in Lincoln County to secure a community water system.

“This investment will provide Nordic Ranch Community with safe, affordable drinking water and reliable infrastructure,” said Harrison. “The project reflects collaboration among community members, county and state officials, the Wyoming Association of Rural Water Systems, and USDA Rural Development. It is part of more than $2 billion invested nationwide in rural water and wastewater projects by the second Trump administration.”

“We view this loan as ensuring the long-term viability of our community,” said Nordic Ranches Community Water & Sewer District President David Mosgeller.

“The residents will have local control over their water system and can look forward to reasonable water rates and local operations for years to come,” said Wyoming Association of Rural Water Systems Senior Advisor Mark Pepper. “Wyoming Rural Water was happy to assist both the developers and the residents for almost two decades to get to this point and look forward to meeting any and all governance, operations, project development technical assistance needs for years to come for the district. I cannot say enough about the cooperation, participation of the residents and partnership with USDA Rural Development and Wyoming Rural Water to come to another successful ‘Quality on Tap’ project.”

Nordic Ranches Community Water and Sewer District will use the funding to secure a small water system that is critical to retaining access to safe, reliable drinking water for this area.

USDA Rural Development’s Water & Waste Disposal Loan & Grant Program provides funding for clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage to households and businesses in eligible rural areas.
