Outdoor concert lovers, mark your calendars for the Small Town USA Tour coming to Afton Saturday, July 13 on the lawns of the Kodiak Mountain Resort. The line-up includes J. Marc Bailey, Jeneen Terrana, Katie Mathews, James Wright and Trinity Seely. Gates are open from 12:30-5 p.m.
This concert is the first in a series of family-friendly summer concert events hosted at the Kodiak. Saturday’s event offers food and drink by Double Dubs and Jack Stand Hot Dogs. Artist merchandise and recordings will be available for purchase. Children under eight are welcome to attend free of charge and all kids can enjoy the Kodiak house playground and event bounce houses.
Guests are encouraged to bring camp chairs and blankets. Everyone is welcome to bring their own food and beverages. Please be prepared to haul out all your trash, as event organizers are looking to keep costs down and grounds enjoyable for all guests.
“I love looking at the Wyoming skies,” Terrana said in an interview on the SVI Radio Network this week. “I love the view on the way [into the valley]. I love the people! We got to perform in Alpine a few weeks ago. It was the sweetest experience being able to share original songs and meet some people from the community. It’s a community we have grown to love and really enjoy visiting and playing for.”
Bailey spoke of his passion for Star Valley and music. “I grew up in the outdoors, and I grew up driving through Star Valley. It’s got to be the prettiest place I have ever seen. Playing outside is so much fun. People are generally more relaxed. We have a bunch of other great artists with us. It’s just going to be a good time.”
Organizer Michael Horn said the concert is not to be missed. “It will be a very laid-back event, and mostly just a chance for our small town to enjoy some music, food, and each other, and remember why we love our small towns. Let’s all come out and enjoy a great afternoon of live entertainment.”
Tickets are available online at AmericanFrontierEntertainment.com/shows or at the event gate.
