For the second time this season, the Lady Braves volleyball team came out on top of a five-set tilt with their rivals from Jackson as they got past the Lady Broncs on Friday night 3-2.
After falling behind early in September and needing to bounce back to for the comeback, the Star Valley girls had a similar script on Friday night after losing a stinker of an opening set 10-25 to drop the first stanza to the visitors. The ladies gained their footing by taking sets two and three by the score of 25-20 and 25-21. Set Four was a back and forth clash with a lot of lead changes and ultimately went to the Lady Broncs in a 26-24 finish which forced the fifth set.
Star Valley controlled the final frame with a 15-8 win to pick up their third straight win on their home court after wins over Natrona County and Rock Springs.
The Lady Braves will try and avenge a home court sweep at the hands of the Evanston Red Devils as they travel to Uinta County next Thursday to face the Southwest’s top squad. Star Valley plays their final home match next Saturday, October 25, as they host the Riverton Wolverines at 3 p.m.
The 4A West Regionals is at Evanston High School on November 1-2.
