Arts Council seeking community volunteers for upcoming season

The BYU Young Ambassadors in January were a big hit in Star Valley. Pianist Richard Dowling was set to perform in April but the evening was canceled due to COVID-19.

◆ Meeting set for June 4.

The Star Valley Arts Council annual community meeting will be held Thursday, June 4, at 9 a.m. in the Afton Civic Center. The annual meeting is a chance for community volunteers to become a part of the Season of the Arts in Star Valley.

“Those interested in becoming a volunteer officer or board member are invited to attend,” said Star Valley Arts Council President Tim Hale. “Due to state and local health guidelines, we are limiting attendance to less than 25 people and following social distancing measures. Please RSVP to starvalleyarts@gmail.com if you’d like to attend so we can make the necessary arrangements.”

According to Hale, the Star Valley Arts Council is always seeking ways to bring quality performances and arts events to the area. The efforts of the organization would not be possible without the help of local businesses and arts patrons as well as community volunteers.

The annual community meeting in June is where the planning and organization for the entire arts season begins, Hale said.

“This is a great opportunity to get involved with a fun, creative group of people,” he said. “We are building on some great momentum from last season and would love more community involvement to continue to help promote the arts in Star Valley.”
