Ceremonial start canceled, 2021 sled dog race will take place

◆ Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race set for January 20-February 6.

The 2021 Pedigree® Stage Stop Sled Dog Race is announcing updates to its race plan. The changes are related to COVID-19.

According to Roger Carpenter, 2021 Pedigree Stage Stop Race Media Director, the race is “scheduled to run with primary emphasis on safely executing the actual competition.”

“The pre-race veterinary exams and drivers meeting will take place on January 29 in Jackson,” Carpenter said. “However, the ceremonial start and opening festivities in downtown Jackson have been canceled.”
2021 will be the 26th consecutive running of the Stage Stop Race.

“The field is currently filled with 25 teams from across North America, including defending two-time Champion, Anny Malo from Quebec, Ontario,” said Carpenter.

The daily race schedule is as follows:
• January 30 — Stage One – Alpine
• January 31 — Stage Two – Pinedale
• February 1 — Stage Three – Kemmerer
• February 2 — Stage Four – Big Piney/Marbleton
• February 3 — Stage Five– Lander
• February 4 — Travel Day
• February 5 — Stage Six – Driggs, Idaho
• February 6 — Stage Seven – Teton County, Wyoming.
