COVID-19 numbers up slightly from last week

Monday, May 17, the number of laboratory-confirmed coronavirus cases seen since the disease was first diagnosed in the state in mid-March stood at 49,951, an increase of 360 cases over the 49,591 reported on May 10.

Sweetwater County had the highest increase in lab-confirmed coronavirus cases, reporting 70 new cases; Albany County had 62; Campbell County had 41; Laramie County had 37; Park County had 27; Natrona County had 23.  Fremont County had 19 new cases; Uinta County had 16; Teton County had 13; Carbon and Sheridan counties each had nine; Platte County had eight; Big Horn, Lincoln and Sublette counties had five new cases each; Goshen County reported four; Washakie County had three; Crook County had two; Converse and Niobrara counties had one new case each.

Hot Springs, Johnson and Weston counties all reported no change in their number of confirmed cases since last week.

The number of active coronavirus cases in the state was 451, a decrease of 24 cases from the 475 active cases reported last week.
