Crash north of Palisades Reservoir claims life of Turnerville man

A two-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday, Sept. 21 on US26 north of Palisades Reservoir has claimed the life of a Star Valley resident.

In a released statement, Idaho State Police said that the accident took place at 12:08 p.m. near milepost 384 in Bonneville County, roughly 13 miles south of Swan Valley. ISP said that a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 25-year-old male from Turnerville, was traveling west when it crossed into the eastbound lanes, colliding with a 2005 Kenworth Boom truck. The Kenworth was being driven by a 28-year-old male from Rexburg, Idaho.

ISP stated that the Turnerville man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The road was closed for roughly five hours. The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police Department. ISP is asking that anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has any information to call (208) 528-3400.
