GILLETTE, WY – Special Olympics Wyoming is pleased to announce the 2023 State Summer Games will be held in Gillette, May 18 – 20. Athletes, coaches, fans, and supporters are gearing up for this event and are excited to return to action at the first State Summer Games to be held in Wyoming since 2019.

The Special Olympics Wyoming State Summer Games will feature competitions in Athletics (track and field), Basketball, Powerlifting, and Swimming across the three-day event. Venues for the competition include the Cam-Plex Central Pavilion, Thunder Basin High School Track, Campbell County High School, Campbell County Aquatic Center, and the Campbell County Recreation Center.

Phil Grabrick, Local Coordinator of the Special Olympics Wyoming – Gillette Masters program, successfully submitted a bid for Gillette to host the State Summer Games in 2020 and 2021. During this event, more than one thousand athletes, coaches, friends, and family will utilize hotels, motels, and other lodging facilities, along with patronizing local restaurants and retail businesses throughout this three-day event.
