Human remains have been found on the shore of Bear Lake in Idaho.

The Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office said that on Thursday, July 27 at about 11:42 a.m. a call was received from a group of people who were recreating on the shore. They said they had been digging in the sand and had uncovered what they believed to be human bones.  The initial investigation by sheriff’s deputies indicated that the bones found were indeed human. The sheriff’s office did not specify which shore the group had been digging on or specifically where the bones were found.

The Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office stated that they are coordinating with the Idaho State University Anthropology department to examine the site and recover any other remains. There are currently no cold cases or unrecovered individuals that may be linked to these remains in Bear Lake County, according to the sheriff’s office.
