He retired as B&B Foreman for the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1987.

Clyde was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the scouting program and a long-time member of the Ogden 29th Ward.

He loved hunting, fishing and outdoors and was an avid mountain man. He loved attending rendezvous and Alpine Mountain Days. He was a fun, loving, caring man and loved by all. He loved his family so much and always said “It is a poor man who can’t improve his stock”.

Dan L Ashment

Dan L Ashment, our loving husband, patient father, mischievous grandfather and playful great grandfather passed Friday, April 30, 2021 after a sudden and short illness. His last day was a wild adventure; touching moments and laughter all strung together on a thread of minor miracles and divine intervention.

Some rules were bent and four generations of his family got the chance to say what they wanted to say and be loved back. The only regret any of us have, is that he’s gone.

He was called to the next life and wrapped this job up completely before he left. A pattern familiar with anyone who ever worked with him. His departure is sudden and heartbreaking, but he did it in a way that left us all feeling more happy for him than sad for ourselves.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 in the Afton Tabernacle at 11 a.m. with a viewing prior to the service starting at 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. There will also be a night viewing on Friday. May 7, 2021 at Schwab Mortuary from 6-8 p.m.
