Lady Braves with fourth in a row in overtime rally

A rescheduled Tuesday evening game against Preston looked to be slipping away from the home court Lady Braves as they trailed 27-20 with just 2:16 to go.

Offense had been hard to come by but the squad closed out regulation with a 7-0 run which included a steal and a layup with seconds remaining from Maddie Hale to tie things at 27-27.

The momentum carried into overtime as the Lady Braves finished a 17-3 run to win the game, 37-30. Hale finished with the game-high of 13 points and pulled in five rebounds including a big three-pointer in the extra stanza.

Sheridan Coles scored ten points and finished with six rebounds and hit a three-pointer in overtime as well. Cameron Erickson scored nine and compiled seven rebounds. Bailey Erickson had the game-high of eight rebounds.

The win was Star Valley’s fourth in a row as they improved to (7-5) overall. The lost was the 14th in a row for the Indians who fell to (1-15) on the season. Ellie Nelson led the PHS effort with 11 points. Brytlee Harris finished with eight points before fouling out at the end of regulation.

It’s the first of three games this week for the Lady Braves will be looking to move to 2-0 in the 4A Southwest as they host Evanston on Thursday at 6 pm. The girls will then travel to Green River for a Saturday night game against the Wolves.
