LCSD #2 announces superintendent candidates

Lincoln County School District #2 has been working towards finding a replacement for current superintendent Alan Allred who announced his retirement last month.

According to Allred, the LCSD #2 Board of Trustees met in a special board meeting on Tuesday, February 20, and voted to interview Dr. Amanda McAdams, Layne Parmenter and Matt Erickson for the position of School Superintendent.

McAdams currently is the Elementary Education Curriculum Coordinator. Parmenter is the principal of Afton Elementary and Erickson is the principal of Osmond Elementary.

According to information provided by the district, “the interviews will take place on Tuesday, February 27, beginning at 4:15 p.m. and will include a committee of parents, business owners and school employees to provide input about each candidate through the interview process.”

There will be an open forum for the public at 7 p.m. at the LCSD #2 district office in Afton where each candidate will answer questions generated by the public.

These questions can be submitted to Amanda Welch at awelch@lcsd2.org. The school board will select a few questions from those submitted.
