Legislature allowing public comments virtually

Sen. Anthony Bouchard, R-Cheyenne, reads through a proposal while listening to Sen. Tara Nethercott, R-Cheyenne, during a special legislative session Friday, May 15, 2020, inside the state Capitol in downtown Cheyenne. The session was conducted online as many legislators opted to use livestreaming, rather than appear inside the Capitol. Michael Cummo/Wyoming Tribune Eagle

——————–

Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, the Wyoming Legislature is allowing public comment virtually. This form allows a limited number of participants to sign up to provide public comment for a specified agenda item during the committee’s upcoming meeting. The total amount of time dedicated to public comment is set by the committee chairmen per Management Council Policy. You may also submit written only comments to the committee through this form.

Testifying Virtually

If you receive an e-mail message from LSO staff it will outline instructions on how to join the Zoom meeting. Only those that fill out the form to provide public comments and who are e-mailed the Zoom invite will be permitted into the meeting. The display name on your Zoom account must match that of the form you filled out to provide public comment. If the names do not match, you will not be permitted into the meeting. LSO staff will not provide technical assistance prior to or during the meeting.

  • Members of the public who are scheduled to appear for a specific agenda item may monitor the proceedings through the live YouTube channel on the Legislature’s Website at www.wyoleg.gov
  • Please enter the Zoom meeting at least ten (10) minutes prior to the agenda item you signed up for.
  • Once you have entered the Zoom meeting, you will be placed in a virtual waiting room until the chairman opens the public comment portion for that agenda item.
  • Once you’ve been released from the waiting room, all decorum protocols should be followed as they would be during an in-person meeting.
  • After you’ve provided your public comments and answered any questions from the committee, you will be removed from the Zoom meeting and you may continue monitoring the proceedings via the livestream.

Testimony submitted on this form will not be edited or verified by the Legislative Service Office and may be considered a public record.

Please submit any questions to lso@wyoleg.gov.
