• Held Thursday-Saturday in Montpelier
High School Rodeo athletes from Star Valley and Cokeville are preparing for the Idaho District 8 Finals, which take place this Thursday through Saturday at the Bear Lake County Fairgrounds in Montpelier. Those who finish in the Top 6 of the event, with scores from previous spring and fall rodeos included, will advance to the Idaho State Finals June 6-13 in Pocatello. Due to far travel distance to locations in Wyoming, Lincoln County area students compete in Idaho District 8.
Heading into the finals weekend, the following athletes currently sit in the top six of their respective events:

Taylar Nate, Cokeville – Pole Bending 5th
Clay Teichert, Cokeville – Saddle Bronc 1st
Ross Hilton, Afton & Kruz Smith, Montpelier – Team Roping 1st
Case Kerr & Ryder Kerr, Afton – Team Roping 2nd
Ryder Kerr, Afton – Tie Down Roping 3rd
Case Kerr, Afton – Tie Down Roping 4th
