Where do your Tax dollars go?

As your County Treasurer, I have received comments as to the county needs to cut back on its spending. The fact is the county controls a small portion of your tax dollars, the entities listed below are the controllers of their tax dollars and we (the county) collect those funds and distribute to them.

In this example, I will address property and motor vehicle, which are the two largest taxable events. For the taxing year 2021-2022 the Lincoln County Treasurer’s Office collected $54,276,730.25. (See breakdown in the chart)

This represents the consumers of your tax dollars. If you feel you are contributing too much, contact the entity’s board that governs the expenditure you feel is out of line.
