Winter storm warning issued for Star Valley on Tuesday and Wednesday

The calendar may have clicked over to March, but snow is still very much in the forecast according to retired meteorologist Jack Hales.

Hales, who runs a detailed weather analysis at blog.starvalleyweather.com stated that heavy snow could be in the coming days for Star Valley residents.

“Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of five to seven inches; eight to 12 inches in the mountains, with locally higher amounts up to 18 inches in the Salt Range.”

The winter storm warning is in effect until 5 pm on Wednesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service the storm could make travel very difficult. The hazardous conditions could image the morning or evening commute.

The warning went on to state that those who travel are encouraged to keep an extra flashlight, food and water in their vehicle in case of an emergency.
