Wyoming Classical Academy Alpine is scheduled to begin its inaugural year of classes in the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 20. With enrollment remaining open at this time, WCA Alpine has a faculty and facility ready to support students in acquiring a quality, classical education.

“The excitement just continues to build every day,” said Dr. Alex Oliver, Headmaster of WCA, in an interview on the SVI Radio Network. Schedules and classroom teaching assignments are completed and ready for “scholars” to begin attending on August 20. The WCA academic year calendar is aligned with the Lincoln County School District #2 schedule so that families in the community can enjoy scheduling consistency between the schools.

Oliver and his staff are pleased with the “enthusiasm that everyone is bringing to the table” as the community prepares for this new educational offering in Alpine that is open to students Kindergarten through sixth grade. Classroom designations include a room for kindergarten students and three other rooms for combined grade levels. First and second grade students will share a classroom and teacher. Grades three and four share a room and teacher. Students in grades five and six are assigned to a combined room and teacher.

WCA invites all registered students and their families to the Back-to-School night on Thursday, August 19. The evening offers an opportunity for families to meet teachers and staff as well as leave their school supplies.  They can become more familiar with the building layout and “what they will be working with this school year.”

Families can find supply lists at the academy website or on the Facebook page. There are lists outlining what each student will need and lists outlining what the school will need to function throughout the year.

Curricula at the academy include the Hillsdale Literacy Program and Singapore Math Program with core knowledge in science, history, arts, PE and computer science.

WCA objectives include personal attention to each student and small class sizes. School policy caps classroom numbers at 25 students, and though some of those classrooms currently have an enrollment of less than 25, once those tallies reach a maximum number of 25 students per room, students who wish to enroll will be placed on a wait list until there is a vacancy. Any families who wish to enroll their children at the academy are encouraged to do so as soon as possible.

“If you are interested, please come by the school and check out what we are doing,” said Oliver, who is eager to introduce the community to the curriculum and show off the new building.
